Take care of your flowers

They’ll take care of you
FLOWER CARE:
When you get flowers from Bloomcourt, you can rest assured you’re receiving lovingly, organically grown blooms recently harvested from the courts. We want your blooms to last as long as possible and bring you maximum joy!
That said, fresh flowers won’t keep forever, so here are some tips to keep them lasting as long as possible:
Play it cool. Pop your flowers in a shady and cool spot - bright sunlight and too much heat will make your blooms go bust way quicker! Keep your flowers out of direct sunlight and away from radiators, air con or drafty spots.
Fruits vs. Flowers. Flowers should be kept away from fruits! Fruit blasts out something called ethylene, which makes flowers age faster.
Keep it clean. Make sure that the vase you’re holding your flowers in has been washed with warm soapy water, and thoroughly cleaned before use.
Only stems in the water. Remove all leaves and florets that sit below the water line of your vase.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Some blooms suck up water faster than others, so always keep your vase filled with fresh water.
Mixed Bunch. Sometimes we use a broad range of flowers, foliage, and grasses in our bouquets, some of which will last longer than others. If any stems start to wilt and die, remove them so that they don’t set the others off too.
Read your emails. Each week we will give you tips on how to best care for the varieties you received in your bouquet - after all, every flower is different and has its particular needs and charms.
A GENERAL NOTE ON VASE LIFE*
We always aim to deliver your flowers just as they are springing into action. For instance, when we deliver your poppies they’ll have just cracked or need another few hours to fully express themselves. Your daffodils may still be in “gooseneck” stage, and then offer you over a week of beauty. Flowers in all of their stages are beautiful, and when you’re ordering directly from the farm you’ll hopefully get to see more of a flower’s life than you ever have before.
*For those new to the term, Vase Life is like Shelf Life, but for flowers - referring to how long your flowers will live happily in your vase.
